Cate Le Bon |
We kicked off the show this week with a stunning session track courtesy of Simon Raymonde’s excellent show, which soundtracked a night in on Monday making the world’s biggest shepherd’s pie. Dark Dark Dark are a Minneapolis band fronted by Nona Marie Invie who has one of the best voices I’ve heard in years.
Welsh folkee-turned-psych-rocker Cate Le Bon is our guest. I caught up with Cate backstage at Village Underground before her album launch gig, Cyrk is out on Monday 30th April and is a huge departure from the folk stylings she’s been known for. A recent US tour with St Vincent has put her firmly on the map Stateside, so much so that her album was released over there before in the UK.
Our north west music hound Shell Zenner caught up with Manchester band Pins this week on her show, we’re playing out a wee version of it too because we love that band and Shell is now our correspondent in the Norf! Welcome to the TOW fold Shell!
We also have a new single from Lancashire rockers Lovely Eggs, Food is another slice of pur pop rock genius from Holly and David. Plus the B-side of Lulu James Rope Mirage single which we’re loving, she’s got something extra special.
Other tracks to listen out for come courtesy of Binko Swink, Janine & The Mixtape, Jesca Hoop, The Lone Taxidermist and Colour Me Wednesday…
