In 2019, Ruth is hosting a brand new BBC Radio 4 series, Out of Office. The programme looks to document and investigate the changing world of work, from co-working spaces, to AI recruitment techniques. From Bullshit Jobs to how to discover The Joy of Work, and a visit to a brewery along the way the story of the modern world of work unfolds. The series runs in tandem with Ruth and Chalk & Blade moving into their first co-working office space and hiring their first member of staff.
In 2006, whilst working as an assistant producer in BBC music radio, Ruth founded The Other Woman. Before the modern feminist wave hit, the show was ground breaking with it’s playlist of the best of new music from female artists and female fronted bands only. The show is now a collective with a home on London’s Soho Radio, presented by a range of musicians, journalists, comedians and artists. TOW has received good reviews in The Guardian and The Independent, who called Ruth:
‘a pop pioneer who knows what women want’.
